Turning a cultural moment into a social movement. Launched within 48 hours of a breaking news story to advocate for women’s right to real beauty. Led to 1 billion+ impressions, 675+ earned stories globally, and a seat on the Ontario Human Rights Commission board.
IKEA SHT
Tackling tax law for people and planet. Advocated against HST tax on second-hand items by creating SHT (Second-Hand Tax) to refund the tax. Led to 192%, over 35k petition signatures, and on-going conversations with Parliament to repeal all taxes on second-hand items.
SI SWIMSUIT PAY WITH CHANGE
World’s first media buy based on progress over profit. Changed the business model of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit to require advertisers to commit to progress for women. Led to 3 billion impressions and 47% increase in brand partnerships.
RAPTORS x MCDONALDS
Launching a partnership of icons. Established a multi-year brand partnership with the Toronto Raptors that led to increased brand health metrics, sales, and app downloads. As a result of the brand and business success, McDonald’s Canada was recognized as NBA Partner of the Year at the 2018 NBA awards.

Laura has established and grown strategy practices that drive business opportunities, powerful creative work, and outsized client and agency growth.
Throughout her career in the US and Canada, Laura has created growth at scale: building research and strategy at Sapient; co-creating the innovation group at Leo Burnett Chicago; and growing complex, category-leading brands as a strategy lead at Cossette, Zulu Alpha Kilo, and Chief Strategy Officer of Edelman Canada. As Chief Strategy Officer at Mantis, Laura combines data science, emerging tech, and marketing to create innovative brand ecosystems and new revenue streams for topline growth.
